Meet Our Provider
Dr. Vanessa Bolling, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Owner of Integrative Core Wellness

Dr. Bolling is a Doctorally- prepared Family Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of clinical experience. She has worked in diverse settings such as nursing homes, urban hospitals on medical/surgical units and cardiac care, urgent care centers, and lastly in primary care where she paneled up to 2,500 patients across the lifespan from infant care to geriatric care.

Her most recent achievement includes receiving her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021. Her scholarly project and manuscript were centered around improving the primary care provider's (PCP) self-efficacy in providing efficient, effective, and timely weight management counseling and care in the primary care setting. She spare-headed the creation of a program called "Back to Basics: Obesity Counseling Training program for Primary Care Providers", collaborating with a Registered Dietician, internationally- recognized Medical Weight Management specialist, and internationally recognized Bariatric Surgeon to educate PCPs on treatment modalities available to clients. This project was successful in increasing PCP self- efficacy and referrals made to specialists for obesity care.

Dr. Bolling is no stranger to creating and providing effective programs with optimal results improving the well-being of clients. Over the years, she's actively listened to the requests, needs, frustrations of the clients and families she's served.

She's received certification in Introductory Obesity Care in Primary Care, Foundational Functional Medicine, and is a Certified Functional Nutrition Informed Provider. She has completed several continuing education hours in obesity and weight management, including completion of a medical weight loss clinic course. Dr. Bolling has also served as a panelist on the 2020 Obesity Summit American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Connecticut Chapter: "Addressing Obesity with the Patient."

Obesity care is a passion of Dr. Bolling. Witnessing family members struggle and even through her own personal challenges, she looks forward to helping clients "Travel Light", one encounter at a time. Outside of engaging in the care of clients, Dr. Bolling is a passionate educator of future healthcare professionals. She serves as Adjunct Faculty of the University of Connecticut's Family Nurse Practitioner program. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, faith community, and time by the water during all seasons.
